01 / PROJECT DETAILS

FDM / FFF filament printing

We build parts layer by layer using fused deposition modeling, also called fused filament fabrication. This process supports functional prototypes, custom components, fixtures, and multi-color branded objects. We review geometry, orientation, supports, and intended use before production.

02 / PROJECT DETAILS

Materials selected for the application

PLA and PETG are options for many custom builds. PET-CF and other engineering filament requirements are reviewed during quoting. Appearance, stiffness, temperature, moisture, and load guide the choice; material availability and suitability are confirmed for your project.

We 3D print your files

Already have a design? Send your STL or 3MF for printing, or a STEP file if modifications may be needed. Include units, dimensions, quantity, mating components, and intended use. We review printability and confirm a quote before production. If you do not have a model, we can scope CAD design from sketches, measurements, and photos.

Project-specific pricing

Dimensions, geometry, material, quantity, supports, finishing, and design work affect cost and schedule. Send your files and target date through our project inquiry form. We confirm scope and provide a quote before fabrication; the form is not an automated price estimate.

FDM 3D PRINTING MATERIALS

Choose the filament around the job.

These are material families we can discuss during quoting, not a live stock list. Grade, color, availability, machine compatibility, and suitability must be confirmed before an order is accepted. PLA, PETG, and PET-CF are part of our existing project experience; other materials require project review.

Common / everyday filaments

  • PLA / PLA+ — Models, display pieces, branded products, and general prototypes; properties vary by grade.
  • PETG — A common option to evaluate for functional parts and custom components.
  • ABS — A thermoplastic option for functional builds, subject to geometry and process review.
  • ASA — Often considered for outdoor applications; the exact grade and exposure requirements matter.
  • TPU / flexible filament — Flexible parts such as protective covers and compliant components; hardness and geometry are reviewed.

Specialty / engineering filaments

  • PC / polycarbonate — An engineering thermoplastic to evaluate when application requirements go beyond general-purpose filaments.
  • PA / nylon — Includes PA6 and PA12 families; moisture conditioning, grade, and part requirements affect selection.
  • Carbon-fiber reinforced filaments — PET-CF, PETG-CF, PLA-CF, and PA-CF / PAHT-CF options, reviewed by exact grade. Reinforcement changes properties; it is not a universal strength upgrade.
  • Glass-fiber reinforced filaments — PA-GF and ABS-GF families, subject to tooling, material availability, and project feasibility.
  • Appearance-focused filaments — Matte, silk, glow-in-the-dark, and wood-filled options for visual projects; finish and abrasiveness vary.
  • Support materials — Dedicated support-interface filaments, PVA, and other soluble-support options where compatible with the main material and process.

Specialty grades can require drying, hardened tooling, different supports, or additional testing. A material name alone does not guarantee strength, heat resistance, dimensional accuracy, or suitability for safety-critical use. We do not offer resin, powder-bed, or metal printing.

BEFORE YOU SEND THE PROJECT

Project questions, answered.

01Do you provide a 3D printing service for Denton, Texas?+

Yes. 3DPrintLab provides custom FDM 3D printing for customers in Denton, Texas, from our Krum-area studio. We print existing customer files and can scope CAD design when a model needs to be created or changed. Local delivery is available by arrangement, and shipping is available.

02What 3D printing process do you offer?+

Our filament-based printing process is FDM / FFF. This page describes that capability—not an offer of SLA resin, SLS powder, or metal printing. We review whether the process is appropriate for your application before accepting the build.

03What files should I send for a 3D printing quote?+

Send STL or 3MF for print geometry, or STEP if the design may need modification. Include units, overall dimensions, quantity, and a photo or explanation of the intended use.

04Do you offer local delivery or shipping in Denton?+

Yes. We serve customers in Denton and nearby communities with local delivery by arrangement or shipping to your door. Delivery availability, cost, and timing are confirmed during quoting. Shipping is also available nationwide; we do not offer walk-in retail service.

05Can you help if I do not have a printable file?+

Yes. Start with a sketch, dimensions, photos, and the problem you want to solve. CAD design can be scoped as part of the project.

06Can you make a functional replacement part?+

We can review a replacement-part project. Include geometry, mating components, loads, and environment so material and design requirements can be assessed. Fit and performance requirements need to be agreed before fabrication.

07How do I contact the studio?+

Call (469) 248-5651 or email em@3dprintlab.co. Contact hours are Monday–Friday, 6–10 PM, and Saturday–Sunday, 10 AM–6 PM, Central Time. Local pickup or delivery is arranged by project; we do not offer walk-in retail hours.
